Hello to all the fans of this site., I have got a little suggestion. I dont know how many will like it and how many wont. Yet let me share it here. In T20 we have 12 runs penalty per over and in tests 4 per over, definitely justified. But in ODIs wat i felt was 6 runs penalty is too little. Let me explain why. In t20 not many times a bowler goes above 12 and so it is in tests. so penalty for not having enough bowlers in the line up is justified. But in ODIs we see so many times a bowler going over 6, and that too when the game of cricket has reached this level, more often we see scores crossing 300. So even with penalty users who dont have bowlers can win without much difficulty in a high scoring game. If I take this situation to the real match, what we see is if a team doesn't have enough bowlers when they opt for part time bowlers they go for plenty of runs. So since i feel going with enough bowlers in the line up is very essential, i feel penalty in ODIs should be increased to 8 per over. This also makes it difficult to win a game. I hope everybody gets my point and also like it. Or atleast manager likes . lol :) Thanks. Jason

Your concern is justified, but if you see the triseries and rsa-wi series... even the nz-sl t20 series... they all are/were low scoring games (except a couple of good innings). In such cases, going for 8 penalty rpo will be too harsh. Also, it is easy to manage 1 penalty run per ball than to go for 8 runs for 6 balls. 8 penalty runs per over result in fractions of runs per ball. This topic was discussed earlier also. You can search for it and see, if you find another valid reason, please share with us. To Create A MoneyBookers ID, please use this link... MoneyBookers.ComAnd If You're Not Down With That.... It should be harsh for not going in with enough bowlers. IF u say its too harsh, then what about in T20s. We usually see 160-180 scored in a t20, but 12 per over means 240. Wheres in ODIs most of the time score touches 300 and even penalty means 300. And about the fractions, we get fractions when the scores of the player whose is partly ignored in the scorecard are calculated with the help of the strike rate, so that shouldn't be any problem i feel. Thanks. Jason

yeah Jason I agree, i think 6 is too little for odis, but big-js point about the fraction is also valid although we are managing the same in tests. Will try 8 an over for the asia cup and see.
