India v South Africa Fantasy Test Cricket Game 2010

How To Play

Team Managment

  1. Select 14 players for your fantasy cricket match
    A starting 11 and 3 Substitutes
  2. The Players you select are associated with each Innings in the Test Match,so you can select:
Sachin Tendulkar (I) - only his performance in India's 1st Innings will count for your team
or Sachin Tendulkar (II) - only his performance in India's 2nd Innings will count
    or select BOTH!!
  3. You can select a maximum of 8 players from one country
  4. There are no restrictions on player types
  5. Use the Up and Down Arrows to change the Batting
and Bowling Orders of any selected player
  6. Use the Declaration drop down window to set a declaration score for your team

Fantasy Cricket Scorecard

  1. Using the players you have selected and the orders you have assigned A Fantasy Cricket Scorecard is created for each match in the series,Your Substitution control panel is above your scorecard
  2. Once the live cricket match starts, your players scores and bowling figures will populate your scorecard in REAL TIME

  3. How To Win?

Winning your fantasy cricket match is just like winning on the last day of a test match :
The bowlers in your team must take 10 wickets in the available overs for less runs than your batsmen have scored!

  4. Both test matches will count in the tournament rankings
  5. If you miss the first Test Match you can still compete for the match prize in the second test match
  6. You can ENTER or make unlimited changes to your team before DAY 2 of each test match is scheduled to start

Batting Rule

  1. Your team can bat till the delcaration score you set is reached
  2. Once the declaration score is reached, batsmen's strike rate will be used to determine his score for your fantasy cricket match.(Shown in the fantasy column)
  3. Runs scored and BALLS FACED by remaining batsmen in the batting order will will be IGNORED(giving you more overs to get 10 wickets)
  4. If you do not set a declaration score all the runs and balls faced by your team will count in your batting innings

Example

In the example on the right the user has set a declaration score of 375, notice Paul Collingwood(II) has scored 96 of 155 balls, but in the fantasy column only 17 runs are counted, this is because the bastmen above him in the assigned batting order have scored a total of 363 runs, leaving collingwood to score just 17 runs to reach the declaration score of 375!! Using his stirke rate in this innings we know he would use 27 balls to score 17 runs.

Also notice Alistair Cook(II) and the remaining players in the batting line up are being ignored, the declaration score has been reached by the batsmen above them so their runs do not count in this fantasy match. More importantly the balls faced by these players dont count either, giving your team more overs to get the required 10 wickets.

Bowling Rule

  1. Your Team can take a maximum of 10 wickets
  2. If more than 10 wickets are taken the bowlers average and economy rate will be used to determine his bowling figures for your fantasy cricket match.(Shown in the fantasy column)
  3. Runs conceded by remaining bowlers in the bowling line up will be IGNORED So think before you assign your bowling order!
  4. Runouts also count as wickets. Only the player responsible for dislodging the bails will be credited with the run out. Runouts are added to the Wickets column of players in your bowling line up

Allotted Overs

  1. The allotted overs for your fantasy cricket match is half the overs bowled in the live test match. (Test Matches can have 4 innings, your fantasy cricket match can have only 2 innings)
  2. Rain, bad light or an early conclusion to the test match will result in a reduction of overs allotted in your fantasy cricket match
  3. You must complete your batting and bowling innings within the allotted overs or your fantasy cricket match will be a draw

Penalty Runs

  1. If your bowlers do not take 10 wickets or do not bowl the remaining allotted overs in the fantasy match, 6 penalty runs will be added to the fantasy opposition score for every over remaining

Example

In the example on the right notice Monty Panesar(I) bowling figures in the live match, 24 overs for 92 runs and 5 wickets, but in the fantasy column only 19.1 overs for 74 runs and 4 wickets are counted, this is becuase the players above him in the assigned bowling order have taken 6 wickets so only 4 are needed from Monty! Using his bowling average and economy rate in this innings we know he would bowl 19.2 overs for 74 runs to take 4 wickets.

Also notice Flintoff (I) bowling figures are being Ignored, this is because 10 wickets have already been taken by the players above them in this assigned bowling order, which has resulted in a very modest 191/10 in 56.1 overs, we call this score your fantasy opposition score! Had Flintoff (I) been assigned a higher bowling order his runs conceded would have counted increasing the fantasy opposition score. So think before assigning your bowling order!!

TIP: Remember you can get wickets through run outs too
and keepers are the mostly likely players to remove the bails

Using Subs

  1. You can use subs to replace players in your starting 11 that did not play in the live cricket match
  2. You can also use subs during the live cricket match to replace players that have not yet batted or bowled in the live match.

Warning: once a player in your starting 11 bats or bowls in the live cricket match, his position in your batting and bowling order will be permanent. So if you wish to substitute a player in your starting 11 you must confirm the substitution before the player bats or bowls in the live match.

  3. Your substitutes can be used even after they bat or bowl.
  4. Substitutes take on the bowling and batting order of the player they replace
  5. Only 2 of the 3 substitutes can be used
